Tony Bolwell & Son Ltd, have now developed a retrofit Air Assist Kit that can be fitted to under slung ramp spring installations. The system adds additional push force equivalent to 500kgs to the ramp, turning a very heavy ramp into a ramp that can now be closed with ease. Contact us for more details.

🔧 Major Engine Surgery Underway! 🔧
When a job needs doing properly… we get stuck in 💪
This one was in for some serious attention – full top-end strip down and rebuild. Cylinder head off, components inspected, replaced where needed, and torqued back down to spec using the correct sequence and settings. No shortcuts, no guesswork – just proper workmanship.
As you can see, access isn’t always easy, but that never stops us. If it means removing parts, fabricating access, or spending the extra hours to get it right – that’s what we do.

The owner of the horsebox came to us after noticing a lack of power and a very noisy engine.
🕵️♂️ Investigation:
On inspection we found the exhaust manifold had cracked, causing loss of performance and excessive noise. Further checks showed the turbocharger also required replacement.
🛠 Remedy:
Removal of the broken exhaust manifold and replacement turbocharger fitted.
⚙️ Procedure:
This horsebox was built as a NON-Tilt-Cab, meaning access to the engine is extremely limited. To gain proper access, we carefully removed the interior and cut out the lower section of the cab floor. This allowed us to safely remove and replace the faulty components.
Once fitted, the engine was supplied with fresh oil and a new filter, then fully tested to ensure everything was operating correctly before reassembly.
Another challenging job completed and this horsebox is now back to full power and running as it should! 💪🐴

The photo shows a heavily worn and scored brake disc (brake rotor).
You can see:
🔧 Deep grooves and scoring across the surface
🔧 Uneven wear patches
🔧 Rust build-up around the outer edge
🔧 Heat marks and cracking
